ADRIAN, Mich. – The men's lacrosse team regrouped after a tough loss on Saturday and pulled out a big 15-14 win over Wooster on Wednesday night at Docking Stadium. The teams played even in the first quarter 3-3 and the second quarter belonged to Wooster outscoring Adrian 4-1. The Bulldogs and Scots scored 12 goals in a frenzied third quarter and then the Bulldogs were staring down a 14-11 deficit with 12:49 to go. The Bulldogs scored the final four goals of the game to improve to 5-2 overall with a narrow one-goal victory.
Mitch Burgin scored from Nick Karapas to get the comeback started at 10:41. Ryan Findlay got the Bulldogs a little closer at 8:36 from Eric Fannell. Brett Maguire tied the game with 2:14 left and then Doug Boyd scored with 1:41 remaining for the final goal of the contest.
Karapas scored a goal and added three assists on six shots including two on net. Cody Schmitt recorded four ground balls and four caused turnovers. Fannell had a monster game offensively with four goals and four assists. A.J. Smith added three goals and two assists with five shots on goal. Burgin scored three goals and had five shots on net. Brett Farrelly made 10 saves for the Bulldogs.
Adrian went 16-of-22 on clears for the game and also collected 36 ground balls. The man-up advantage was in favor of the Bulldogs as they went 3-for-7 while Wooster was 0-for-5.
