The Adrian College men's soccer team faced Rochester College on Monday night for an exhibition match. Two goals from transfer Patrick Bradley proved to be the difference in the match. The first goal came in the first 25 minutes of the game. Shaquille Gordon received the ball on the left side of the field and played a nice cross to the back post where Bradley was able to finish. The Bulldogs sustained good attacking pressure creating a couple of opportunities, with the first half ending with the Bulldogs leading 1-0.
Adrian came out in the second half and were able to get into a good rhythm, creating opportunities and good pressure but unable to show for it in the first 25 minutes. Around the 73rd minute the Bulldogs were able to break through again and this time capitalized. Akintunde Oluwadare played a nice ball into the path of Ryan McCarthy who hit a first time ball across the box where Bradley finished.
"Tonight was a chance for us to see what progress we have made and what area's we need to improve," said head coach Chris LeFevre. "Overall, I am pleased with what I saw. The team effort and speed of the game was all good. This will really help us going forward."
The Bulldogs have nine days before they kickoff the 2011 season at Grove City College. They will play one more exhibition match this Saturday against John Carroll University with kickoff set at 5:00 pm.
