The Adrian College men's soccer team took on John Carroll University Saturday afternoon in Medina, Ohio. John Carroll got off to a fast start scoring two goals in the first half.
The second half began and Adrian was able to establish themselves and put John Carroll under pressure. Within a seven-minute span, Adrian scored three goals giving them a 3-2 advantage. In the 60th minute, Ambrose DiGiovanni was played in on a through ball down the right flank, he played a driven ball across the box and Nick Minshall buried it in the left corner to get Adrian on the board.
Six minutes later it happened again, DiGiovanni was played in behind and was able to find Minshall for his second finish of the game. A couple minutes later the Bulldogs were at it again, a ball was played into Stennett Nyeka Nyeka down on the left side toward the endline and he was able to find Minshall for his third goal of the game. JCU was able to tie the game with less than three minutes to go and the game ended in a 3-3 draw.
"Today we showed a lot of resilience going down two goals in the first half," said head coach Chris LeFevre. "We stayed focused and understood we had 45 minutes to make up for it, I am proud of what the guys did today."
The Bulldogs kickoff the 2011 season this coming Thursday at Grove City College, the game is set to start at 4:00 pm.
