Gordon's OT Winner Gives Men's Soccer a 2-1 Victory at Trine

ANGOLA, Ind. - The Adrian College men's soccer team tasted victory for the first time in MIAA action on Wednesday, Oct. 5 at Trine University with a 2-1 overtime win over the Thunder (7-2-2, 3-2-1 MIAA). The Bulldogs (2-7-1, 1-5 MIAA) trailed 1-0 at halftime and rallied to tie the game in the second half and then won it in the extra session.

Andre Hilson scored his second goal of the season for Trine at 20:36 with an assist from Femi Adediji. Hilson shot the ball over the middle of Adrian's Zach Zeka below the crossbar to give Trine a 1-0 lead.

Travis Smith got Adrian right back into the game at 65:12 as Jamie Brower's throw-in was put home by Smith in traffic in front of the net for his first goal of the season.

The Bulldogs ended it just 2:57 into overtime as Trine turned the ball over deep in their own territory and freshman Shaquille Gordon made them pay with his first goal of the season unassisted from 25 yards out.

Trine led Adrian, 6-4, in shots on goal as Zeka made five saves in his first start and action of the season in net.
