OLIVET, Mich. - The men's soccer team wrapped up the 2011 season on Wednesday (Nov. 2) with a 1-0 loss at Olivet College. The Bulldogs finished 4-12-2 overall and 3-10-1 in the MIAA and missed out on the inaugural conference tournament with 10 points in the standings.

The story on this day was the same story that plagued the team all season long and that was a lack of offense. The Bulldogs were shut out nine times in 18 games and never scored more than two goals in a game. They managed 13 goals this season for an average of 0.72 goals per game.

The lone goal of the contest happened at 12:32 when Jon Puente scored his third goal of the season with assists from Jared Wilson and Esteban Russell. Puente took a corner kick opportunity and deflected the ball at the near post.

Adrian was outshot 19-10 overall and 10-4 in shots on goal. Jamie Brower led the team with two shots on goal from his defensive position. Mitch Aguilera and Shaquille Gordon had the other shots on goal for the Bulldogs. Zach Zeka made nine saves in net for Adrian.

Aguilera was the team leader with eight points and four goals this season. Ryan McCarthy added two goals and seven other players had one goal apiece. Zeka went 3-5-1 in net and had a 1.51 goals against average and .778 save percentage. James Ruby went 1-7-1 in net with a 2.41 goals against average and .645 save percentage. Both freshmen keepers combined to make 94 saves this season.
