Adrian Adds Paul Gilbert as Men's Soccer Assistant Coach

ADRIAN, Mich. – The Adrian College athletic department is pleased to announce the hiring of Paul Gilbert as the new assistant men's soccer coach. Gilbert will take over the responsibilities starting on Feb. 28.

Gilbert comes to Adrian after receiving a Bachelors of Science degree in Sports Management from Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia. Gilbert competed on the soccer field while at Division I Liberty as a goalkeeper.

"I'm excited about Paul joining our program and thrilled with the specialties he brings to the table," said Head Soccer Coach Chris LeFevre. "His character is crucial in continuing to build our program and his playing background will help with the development of our players."

Gilbert has prior experience coaching at camps and clinics during his college years. Over the past four years, Gilbert worked at the Darlington School Soccer Academy, the Chicago Eagles Sports Ministry Academy, and as a Personal Goalkeeper Trainer.

While at Liberty, Gilbert had an impressive career as a goalkeeper. Gilbert was the Big South Conference Freshman of the Year in 2007 and during his career he competed in 45 matches while posting 15 shutouts.
