ADRIAN, Mich. – Although the men's soccer team looked sharper than the night before, they were defeated by North Central (Ill.), 2-0 Saturday night.
The teams played a tight scoreless first half. North Central got on the board nearly eight minutes into the second half when the ball found the back of the net by way of a defender's backside. The Cardinals added a late goal with less than ten minutes remaining in the contest to seal the win.
Coach LeFevre surmised the game optimistically, "It's disappointing to start the season this way, but on the bright side, we're learning a lot about ourselves, we're fighting each day to get better and at this point, that's all we can ask for. Once this group comes together completely, we will become a very tough team to compete against."
The team's next matchup is at home Friday Sept. 7th against Grove City at 2 p.m.
