ANGOLA, Ind.- The Bulldog men's soccer team (2-2-1) set off for Trine University in Angola, Indiana to take on Manchester University in the 19th annual Ketner Classic on Friday. This game was no contest as Adrian College controlled both halves of play on their way to a convincing 3-0 victory.
The first of the three goals was scored in the 12th minute on an unassisted goal by Nick Minshall (7th of season) to put the Bulldogs up early, and they never looked back. In the 26th minute, Marcus Phipps and Minshall connected a beautiful give-and-go that Phipps netted convincingly to secure a two-goal lead that would be held until intermission. Following the break, Ambrose DiGiovanni wasted no time, scoring in the 51st minute from the right side of the box on an assist from Phipps.
This match was dominated by Adrian College as they outshot Manchester 14-6. The Bulldogs also had a lopsided advantage in opportunities, putting six shots on goal to just one from Manchester.
Adrian College will remain in Angola, Indiana and play again tomorrow, September 14 at 2 p.m. versus Elmhurst.
