ADRIAN, Mich. - The Bulldogs and Hope College collided on Tuesday evening for a key conference match. Each team entered the day with six total points which had them tied for second in the MIAA. The Bulldogs gave this game their all, and played the Flying Dutchmen evenly through all 90 minutes but fell just short 1-0. The match left Adrian College at 4-4-2, 2-2 on the season having dropped their last two MIAA matches.
All 90 minutes of the match were played evenly. Both teams finished the day with six shots on goal, the only difference was a corner kick in the 19th minute that was scored on a header by Hope College. The Bulldogs offensive surges were led by junior forward Nick Minshall who put four shots on goal. Niko Giantsopoulous once again held down the back end, stopping five shots and quarterbacking the defense that held Hope in check all match long. Despite an evening that saw the Bulldogs leave everything they had on the field, the ball did not quite bounce the Adrian College way and the final score showed that result.
The Bulldogs will play next in a key conference match on Saturday, October 5 at Trine University at 7 p.m.
