ADRIAN, Mich.- The Bulldogs tied Kalamazoo College Tuesday night in a scoreless double over time match. The two teams both had scoring opportunities go just high, wide, and off the post. They played all 110 minutes with everything they had, even as the rain began to fall in the second overtime period.
The first half of play was highlighted with a free kick that resulted in a goal for the Bulldogs, only to be waved off due to an off sides call. Nick Minshall fired multiple shots on his way to a game high total of seven. He had a breakaway opportunity that was blocked at the last minute by a Hornet defender, and a second breakaway chance that he left just high. This was complimented on the back end by Niko Giantsopoulous and his nine saves. Both teams were able to manufacture scoring opportunities, and the Bulldogs did a great job at holding Kalamazoo to a shutout. They were just not quite able to capitalize on the chances that were given by the Hornets, and the Bulldogs ended the match in a shut out to put their record at 5-5-4 on the season and 3-3-1 in the MIAA.
The Adrian College men's soccer team will play again at home on Saturday, October 19th against Alma College at 2:30 p.m.
