GRAND RAPIDS, Mich.- Nick Minshall continued his record setting season Tuesday evening as he scored his 14th goal of the season. Despite this conintued offensive presence, the Bulldogs fell to Calvin College 5-1 to fall to 5-7-4 on the season and 3-5-2 in the MIAA.
The game was played without score through much of the first half as the Bulldogs and goalkeeper Niko Giantsopoulous kept the Knights at a scoreless tie through 37 minutes. Calvin then managed three goals in the final eight minutes before halftime to a take a 3-0 lead to the break. The Knights started the second half quickly by getting two more goals by the 60 minute mark past reserve goal keeper Lino Taormina. Adrian answered right back when Minshall scored from a Pat Bradley helper in the 67th minute to decrease the deficit to 5-1. This would be the final scoring of the last 23 minutes of play as the Knights secured the victory.
Niko Giantsopoulous started the match in goal for Adrian and stopped 2 shots in the first half. Lino Taormina replaced Giantsopoulous after the break and went on to make 6 saves in the final 45 minutes. Nick Minshall led the Bulldogs in shots (3) and combined with Ryan McCarthy for all four shots on goal.
Adrian College will see action again this Saturday, October 26th at Hope College at 5 p.m.
