OLIVET, Mich.- The Bulldogs travelled to Olivet College Wednesday night to take on the Comets. Adrian jumped out on top of Olivet as they carried a halftime lead. The Comets then battled back in the second half to force overtime and overcame the Bulldogs in the first overtime period as the Bulldogs fell, 2-1. This loss leaves the overall record for Adrian at 4-13-1 with a 1-11-1 mark in the MIAA.
The Bulldogs broke through a stalemate that began the game as they took the initial 1-0 lead. Crystal Brown scored his first goal of the season unassisted in the 29th minute to help Adrian take the advantage in the game. The teams went to the break with Adrian still carrying this lead as Lino Taormina kept Olivet scoreless with five first half saves.
The second half then started with Olivet evening the score 24 seconds into the half. The Bulldogs then regrouped as they would hold the Comets scoreless for the remainder of the period as Taromina added seven more saves. Adrian could not overcome the Olivet defense again as the teams were forced into overtime.
Overtime saw Olivet gain the early momentum as they fired two shots before the Bulldogs could respond. The Comets then ended the game in the 93rd minute to take the game, 2-1.
Taormina made the start in goal for the Bulldogs as he recorded a career high 12 saves.
