ABLION, Mich. – The Adrian College men's soccer team went on the road to compete in their second match this season against the Albion College Britons. The Bulldogs came up short losing the match 2-1 in a Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association contest.
Albion started the game strong when in the 16th minute freshman forward Shawn Roberts scored an unassisted goal. The Britons would carry the 1-0 lead into halftime.
The Bulldogs scored the equalizer just two minutes into the second half, when freshman defensemen Chris Stanhope put one into the back of the net for his first goal of the season. Freshman forward Brandon Katona recorded his second assist of the season on the goal.
The Britons, however, would respond quickly when five minutes later sophomore midfielder Kyle Bourlier scored. The goal would turn out to be the game winner making the final 2-1 in favor of Albion College.
Adrian College will look to bounce back on Wednesday October, 14 at 7:00 p.m. when it hosts Trine University.
