ALMA, Mich.--Alma College scored an unassisted goal in each half en route to a 2-0 win Tuesday over visiting Adrian College in Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association men's soccer action at Scotland Yard. The Scots improve to 10-4-1 overall and 7-3-1 in the MIAA, while the Bulldogs dip to 4-10-2 on the season and 3-7-1 in the conference.
Evan Shirkey gave the Scots all the offense they would need in the 29th minute. Chad Buitenhuis added an insurance tally in the 74th.
Senior keeper Lino Taormina kept the Bulldogs close by making six saves. Nick Strait did not face a shot on goal to record a clean sheet in the Alma net.
After playing four of their last five games on the road, the Bulldogs return home on Saturday to square off against nationally-ranked Calvin College at Docking Stadium. Kick-off for the MIAA contest is scheduled for 7 p.m.
