ADRIAN, MICH. -- Adrian College men's soccer announced the hiring of Joseph Tinnion as Assistant Coach for the 2018 season.
"We could not be more excited about hiring Joey to our staff," Head Coach Ryan McDonald stated. "He has shown himself to be a proven player at Oakland University as well as a club and college coach. He will add so much to the offensive side of our game and I know our players are ready to work with him this fall.
Tinnion joins Adrian after completing two years at Oakland University as a graduate assistant coach. While at Oakland, Tinnion assisted with recruiting and training sessions as well as leading many on-campus recruiting visits and was the coordinator of team travel and was the Community Service coordinator for the 2016-17 season.
"I am extremely excited to begin working with the Adrian Men's Soccer Team," said Tinnion. "The program has been making tremendous strides the last few seasons and I'm looking forward to building on that momentum. I've been fortunate enough to work with Coach McDonald in the past, and I couldn't be more excited to learn from him, work with him, and to help him guide this program to not only wins but championships.
Tinnion gained coaching experience during his time at Oakland as a head coach for the Michigan Jaguars Soccer Club and the Carpathia Kickers Soccer Club during the 2016-17 and 2017-18 seasons.
From 2010-17, Tinnion was a coach for Coerver Michigan where he was a senior staff member that coached two Coerver Michigan teams in the Gothia Cup in Sweden and helped develop some of the best young soccer players in the state of Michigan. For two seasons, 2014-2015, Tinnion spent time as the assistant coach for girls varsity soccer at Troy High School and was a US Soccer for Success Coach in Detroit, Michigan in the fall of 2012.
