Adrian finished the regular season with a 9-9 overall record, including 4-3 in the MIAA. Hope went 8-10 on the season and 5-2 in the conference. The Bulldogs are 4-2 on the road this season for their best mark since the 2014-15 campaign (12-3).
Senior Jon Rhind and sophomore Nathan Waterbury lead Adrian with identical 12-6 singles records. Rhind plays No. 6 where he was 4-3 in conference-only matches. Waterbury also was 4-3 in MIAA play and went 10-4 at No. 5 and 2-2 at No. 4. Sophomores Kyle Haines/Tanner Wilcox are Adrian's most successful tandem with a 7-3 No. 3 doubles record (4-3 in MIAA) during the fall and spring.
Hope defeated Adrian earlier this season 9-0, also at home. The Flying Dutchmen lead the all-time series 66-2, as the Bulldogs won as recently as 2015 by a 6-3 score. This will be the fifth meeting between the teams in the MIAA Tournament, with Hope winning in 2016 (5-4), 2014 (5-3), 2010 (7-0) and 2009 (5-0).
