Bulldogs Slip Up on Senior Night, Fall to Scarlet Hawks 3-1

ADRIAN, Mich. - The Adrian College men's volleyball team kept it close, but couldn't close out Illinois Tech, falling 3-1 on the final home game of the season (senior night) at the Merillat Sports/Fitness Center.


Final Score: Adrian 1, Illinois Tech 3 (23-25, 20-25, 25-23, 18-25)

Avery Johnson and Eduardo Aleman led the Bulldog attack with 14 and 13 kills respectively

Javes Escalera paced the offense with 23 assists

Joseph Deets also contributed with 17 assists

Austin Hinojos recorded a game high 15 digs

• Johnson and Aleman each contributed defensively with 12 and 11 digs


• The Scarlet Hawks were led offensively by Alex Babusci (21 kills) and Ryan Barnes (15 kills)

• Andrew Woltman tallied a game high 46 assists, pacing the Illinois Tech offense

• Allan Huang was the defensive leader with 14 digs

• Michael Drews (12 digs), Woltman (11 digs) and Babusci (10 digs) also contributed on the defensive side


• Adrian will wrap up its season tomorrow (April 2), traveling to face Olivet in the final MCVL match.

• The Bulldogs and Comets have split the previous two meetings this season with Adrian winning the most recent at Olivet last weekend 3-0 (Olivet won 3-2 on January 23)
