ROYAL OAK, Mich. - The Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association has named Adrian guard Katie Ross its Player of the Week in women's basketball for games played through December 31.
Ross, a senior from Clawson (Clawson HS), averaged 23 points per game as the Bulldogs split a pair of nonconference games. She scored a career-high 34 points, including eight 3-point baskets, and pulled down six rebounds in a 64-63 loss to Ohio Northern, and added 12 points in a 57-50 win over Oberlin, Ohio. Ross, who is being honored as Player of the Week for the first time in her career, made 15 of 28 shots from the field (52 percent) for the week, including 10 of 18 from 3-point range (56 percent), and 6 of 7 from the free-throw line (86 percent). It is the first player of the week honor for a women's basketball player at Adrian in two years.
