ADRIAN, Mich. – The women's basketball team took on Albion College Wednesday night. The Britons came out hot as they shot 69.6% in the first half and 56.5% for the game. The Bulldogs battled Albion to the buzzer, but the Britons were able to pull away from a 45-33 halftime lead to an 89-57 victory. This loss leaves Adrian at 7-15 overall and 3-10 in the MIAA.
Albion pulled away to a 20-9 lead with 12:30 left in the half before the Bulldogs fought back into the game. Jorden York made a pair of three point shots, and Marissa Cotton tallied eight points as Adrian fought to a 45-33 halftime deficit.
The Britons added to their lead in the second half as they would shoot consistently from the free throw line (20-24) to keep their lead over the Bulldogs. Amber McCullough totaled seven points to lead the Adrian attack, but consistent play from Albion guard Oreyana Curry kept the Britons ahead. Curry scored 27 points for the game as the Bulldogs were never able to overcome the Albion lead and fell, 89-57.
