ALMA, Mich. – The Adrian College women's basketball team finished their 2014-15 season on the road against Alma College Saturday afternoon. The Bulldogs pulled away from the Scots in the second half to secure the 71-55 victory and leave their overall record at 8-17 with a 4-12 mark in the MIAA.
The Bulldogs fell behind 9-11 early in the first half before taking a 7-0 run that would help secure their 24-23 halftime edge. Antoinea McElroy and Marissa Cotton led the Bulldog offense in the first 20 periods as they each tallied seven points. Grace Wheeler helped keep the Scots within reach as she would total 10 first half points to lead all scorers.
The Bulldogs would then pull away in the second half as they would stretch their lead to as many as 20. Adrian would open up their lead with an 11-0 run that left the score at 59-39, and the Bulldogs did not look back. McElroy would score 22 for the game and add nine rebounds. Amber McCullough would total 10 second half points as Adrian cruised to a 71-55 win in their final appearance of 2014-15.
