ADRIAN, Mich.--Adrian College women's basketball coach Kathy Morris has announced that senior guards Brigette Cameron (Barrie, Ontario/Bear Creek Secondary) and Amber McCullough (Detroit/Southfield Lathrup High School) will serve as the Bulldogs' team captains for the 2015-16 season, which tips off Saturday against nationally-ranked DePauw University.
Cameron (pictured, left) is a 2014-15 Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Honor Roll choice who appeared in five games for the Bulldogs last season.
McCullough started in three of 25 games while contributing averages of 9.8 points and 6.3 rebounds. She led the team and ranked fifth in the MIAA with 72 offensive rebounds.
"Brigette and Amber were both selected by their teammates this year to be our captains. As a team, we spent some time evaluating what it means to be a leader," 24-year Adrian head coach Kathy Morris says, "and I feel we have chosen two very good players who exhibit that role! Brigette leads by example, and you will not find anyone who works harder in our program than her. Amber is confident and fearless. She is willing to lead our team through anything. I feel the two of them will complement each other extremely well this season."
DePauw (No. 15 USA TODAY Sports/WBCA, No. 19 D3hoops) invades the Merillat Sport and Fitness Center for the non-conference season opener on Saturday, starting at 5 p.m.
