SOUTH BEND, Ind. - The Adrian College women's bowling team kicked off the second half of their season finishing 10th out of 24 teams at the Blue & Gold Classic held in South Bend, Indiana. Adrian had three bowlers finish in the top 50. Junior Chelsea Essenmacher and sophomore Nicole Loomis led the team placing 13th and 34th out of 172 bowlers. Essenmacher averaged 179.9 for nine games while Loomis averaged 170.9. Senior Kristen Marcis finished 42nd with a 165.2 average for nine games.
"The team bowled pretty well on a tough pattern where the scores were low," said head coach Jody Fetterhoff. "We were very consistent through the first seven games and then struggled the last two. Fortunately those two games didn't hurt us in terms of final standings. Our spare shooting wasn't as sharp as we'd like, but that's to be expected coming off Christmas break."
The team's next tournament is an all-baker format tournament in Columbus, Ohio on January 26-27.
