ROSSFORD, Ohio--The Adrian College women's bowling team knocked down 6,446 pins--the Bulldogs' second-highest total this season--to place ninth out of 16 schools at the Bowling Green State University Falcons Classic held here Saturday at Interstate Lanes.
The format for the weekend was five games and three baker sets.
Junior Jordyn Stone led the Bulldogs individuals, throwing a 943 total pinfall for an average of 188.6. Stone finished in 21st place out of 97 competitors. Senior Marissa Land finished with a 905, averaging 181 for five games, for 27th overall. Junior Kayla Clark bowled four games to help out the Adrian Bulldogs. Sophomore Emily Moharter bowled three games with a 263 game included. Freshman Adrienne Spranger also bowled during individuals with two games recorded.
The women's team finished their bakers with a 2,115 total, putting them into ninth place out of 16 teams. Wright State claimed first place with Calument College of St. Joseph in second and Alma College in third.
Adrian wore special purple jerseys for this event to honor the memory of assistant coach Darrin Griewahn's daughter, Lauren, who lost her fight against lupus, a chronic autoimmune disease.
The last tournament of the semester for Adrian will be the Toledo Classic on Saturday, Dec. 1, at New Glass Bowl Lanes.
