GRANVILLE, Ohio--The Adrian College women's golf team made its season debut this weekend at the Lynn Schweizer Invitational hosted by Denison University at the Denison Golf Club. After weather forced the suspension of Saturday's first round play, teams completed the first 18 holes early Sunday and then immediately went into the final 18 to complete the two-day event.
The Bulldogs finished ninth with 386+376=762. Sophomore Hailey Scott led the team with a 88+91=179 for a 41st-place tie overall. She was making her Bulldogs' debut after transferring from NCAA Division II Bellarmine University in Louisville, Ky., leading a collegiate team in scoring for the first time.
DePauw won the team title with a 311+304=615 and the Tigers' Rachele Miller was the medalist after a 76+72=148 on the par-71, 5,824-yard course.
Adrian returns to the links on Friday (2 p.m.) and Saturday (8:30 a.m.) at the Olivet College Kyle Campbell Invitational, The Medalist Golf Club in Marshall, Mich.
