ADRIAN, Mich. - The Adrian College men and women's hockey teams are coming together to support a noteworthy cause as they will each host a Pink the Rink contest for the second year. The women's team will host Saturday, Jan. 26 against UW-Stevens Point at 2 p.m. and the men will host Sunday, Feb. 3 against Lake Forest at 3 p.m.
Both teams will be wearing their pink jerseys and pink socks for the games. The jerseys that are not purchased by the players' families will be up for silent auction the weekend of each event. The winning bidders will go down to the ice after the game to receive their jersey from the player.
There will also be t-shirts, both pink and gray, that are going to be sold prior and during the event while supplies last. All proceeds from the event will be donated to the Hickman Cancer Center at ProMedica Bixby Hospital in Adrian. The primary use will be to provide funds for those who cannot afford or do not have insurance for mammograms and care. There will also be representatives from the Hickman Cancer Center available to answer questions and provide information about breast cancer.
