DULUTH, Minn. - Adrian College freshman Jessica VonRuden was named the Offensive Player of the Week by the Northern Collegiate Hockey Association (NCHA) for the first weekend of the 2018-19 season.
VonRuden led the Bulldogs with three goals in a weekend split with No. 8 Wisconsin-River Falls. She scored the game-winning overtime goal with less than a second remaining in Saturday's 4-3 OT win and then scored two goals in the first period in Sunday's 4-3 loss.
This is the second season in a row that the Black and Gold have been awarded a Player of the Week by the NCHA in the first week of the season, as the Bulldogs swept the award in week one last year.
The Bulldogs have their home-opener this weekend when Northland comes to town for a two-game series. Puck drop is scheduled for 7 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 3 and 3 p.m. for Sunday.
