Adrian completely dominated this game from the very beginning, scoring the first goal 24 seconds in to the contest. The goals kept piling up in the first, with nine different Bulldogs scoring before the break. Senior Rachel Smestad scored the game's 10th goal to make it a running clock for the duration of the competition. Fellow senior Annie Rice only scored twice in the half, but picked up five assists in the first 30 minutes. When the horn sounded, AC had a 13-0 lead. At halftime, Adrian honored its four seniors: Smestad, Rice, Hannah Emerson, and Amanda Tuckey.

The offense slowed down slightly in the second half, with the Black and Gold only putting up nine goals after the break. Six more Bulldogs scored in the second half, including Emerson, who only played the first half in goal before looking to play the outfield and score one herself. Rice tacked on another two goals and added three more assists for a total of 12 points in the game, putting her tied for third place in a single game in program history. Her eight assists put her tied for fourth with her own performance from a year ago.

A total of four Bulldogs scored their first career goals today: Emerson, Brooke Barabas, Grace Pavlovich, and Victoria Poland. The team took a total of 51 shots in the game, the most in program history. AC also caused 24 of Olivet's turnovers, good for second-most in a single game. The win secures the senior class's first winning season and the first winning season for the program since 2014.

• Rice led the offense with four goals and eight assists. Joining her with multiple goals were freshman Olive Stevens, junior Maddie Nicholas and sophomore Erika McDonald.

• Smestad and sophomore Gwyneth Carlson each had four ground balls.

• Rice had six draw controls to lead the squad.

• Emerson played the first half in goal and wasn't tested. Freshmen Emily Anderson and Sydney Doroh split the second half, with Doroh stopping the only shot that made it on net to preserve the shutout.

• Alyssa Miller took all four of Olivet's shots.

• Sofiya Stumpos had four ground balls and Mekenzie Lamb came away with four of the Comets' six draw controls.

• Grace Forbush turned aside 16 shots in the game.

Adrian finishes up its regular season next week with a pair of road conference games. The Bulldogs will play St. Mary's at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, April 24 before wrapping things up in Kalamazoo against the Hornets on Saturday, April 27 at 1 p.m.
