Women's Soccer Tied for Fifth in MIAA Preseason Poll

FREELAND, Mich. - The Adrian College women's soccer team was tied for fifth in the 2017 Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) women's soccer preseason poll that was released by the league office today (Tuesday, August 22, 2017).

Hope tops the poll with 54 points (4 first-place votes), followed by Albion with 49 (1), Calvin with 46 (1), and Kalamazoo with 40 (2). The Bulldogs earned 36 points to tie for fifth with Alma College. Trine 29 (1), Olivet 23, and St. Mary's 11 filled out the remainder of the poll.

"There's a newfound level of excitement and confidence, and our girls are locked in and ready to fight to get back into the postseason," said Head Coach Ali Alamdar, "We're looking forward to the opportunity to rise to every challenge we face this season.

Adrian opens the 2017 season with a home match against John Carroll at 5:00 p.m., ET, on Friday, September 1.
