CLERMONT, Fla. - It was another sweep of a day for the Adrian Bulldog softball team as they bested Houghton 7-0, followed by an 8-0 win over Wartburg. With the pair of wins, the team improves to 5-3 on their current spring trip in Florida.
In the first game, sophomore Sarah Muncey recorded her first career complete game shutout, going seven innings, giving up zero runs on four hits and striking out eight. This was the first win of Muncey's career.
The Bulldogs got another good performance in the circle in the second game, an 8-0 win over Wartburg, from senior Kelly Eberhardt. It was a complete game, six inning shutout for Eberhardt, who gave up zero runs on two hits and struck out nine batters.
Four different Bulldogs went 2-for-3 in the game, as Stewart, Hein, Brittany Bertrand, and Katie Dewyre all managed multiple hits. The sophomore Bertrand knocked in five runs on the game and got her first triple of the season.
The Bulldogs finish up the spring trip today as they will play one more game. Adrian will match-up against Johnson & Wales tonight at 7 pm.
