ADRIAN, Mich. - In the last home series before the home MIAA finale, Adrian looked strong in the first game, then fell in the second as the Bulldogs split with cross-town rival Siena Heights. Adrian won the first game 2-0, then fell 15-5 in game two.
Senior Kelly Eberhardt looked as good as she has all season in game one, going seven innings and giving up only two hits while striking out 12 Saints, on her way to earning her 15th win of the season.
In game two, the Bulldogs hung in with the Saints at the beginning, then the wheels fell off late. Eberhardt started the game, but was pulled in the second inning for Jami Shafley when the Saints plated four runs in the top of inning two.
In the bottom half of the inning, Hall hit a homerun to right field, making the Bulldog deficit 4-2.
Siena kept the bats going for the majority of the game. In the fifth the Saints added one run, while scoring five in the sixth, and four in the seventh.
The Bulldogs have one day to rest before a doubleheader against MIAA opponent Calvin. Going into Saturday's doubleheader, the Knights are 13-19 (4-8 MIAA) on the year.
Adrian is currently third in the MIAA with a 9-5 conference record, and hoping to keep post-season thoughts alive, as the Bulldogs are currently ranked 7th in the Central Region.
