ADRIAN, Mich. - After a third place finish in the MIAA and a 23-17 season, the Adrian Bulldogs nabbed three players to the All-MIAA softball team. Seniors Kelly Eberhardt and Sarah Hall earned the honors, along with freshman Kaitlyn Hinojosa.
Eberhardt (Wellington, Ohio/Black River) pitched her way to the All-MIAA first-team for the third time in her career. The senior went 17-14 on the season, including a 9-5 record in the MIAA, with a 1.88 ERA. Eberhardt struck out 177 batters on the season, including a season high 12 strikeouts against Siena Heights. Eberhardt will end her career as a Bulldog with the most wins in school history with 69, and first in career strikeouts with 657.
The senior at second base Hall (Napoleon, Ohio/Napoleon) was second on the team in batting for the year with a .340 average. Hall had 36 hits on the year, 26 runs, 18 RBI, two homeruns, and was second on the team with a .968 fielding percentage. In the 16 MIAA games played, Hall committed only one error. Hall had three games in which she went 3-for-3 on the year.
The Bulldogs had one player earn second-team All-MIAA honors in freshman Kaitlyn Hinojosa (New Boston/New Boston Huron). The freshman was tops on the team in batting average during conference games, hitting .370 against MIAA opponents. In the win against St. Mary's in the MIAA Tournament, Hinojosa went 3-for-4 with a double, one run, and two RBI.
