ADRIAN, Mich. - The Adrian College athletic department has announced the hiring of Lauren Nacke as the assistant softball coach beginning immediately. Nacke joins a Bulldog program under head coach Kristina Schweikert that has seen a great deal of success on the diamond over the past five seasons. Adrian has a record of 142-60 since Schweikert took over for a winning percentage of 70.3 percent.
Nacke recently concluded her playing career at the University of Dayton where she holds school career records for home runs (41) and runs batted in (104). She also holds single-season records for home runs (18), runs batted in (48) and batting average (.403). In 2011, Nacke ranked second in NCAA Division I in home runs per game and was 12th in slugging percentage. She was named First Team Atlantic 10 in 2009 and 2011 and was also selected NFCA Mid Atlantic All Region First Team in 2011. Nacke earned team Most Valuable Player and Offensive Player of the Year awards in 2011.
Nacke has experience as a coach with Indy Xplosion Under 16 team from May to August 2012. She assisted in all facets on the team including practice plans and individual skill development. She also served as a hitting instructor in the Center Grove Softball League in her hometown of Greenwood, Indiana from May 2011 to present. Nacke also has camp and clinic experience at the University of Dayton while she was a student-athlete.
