Bulldogs Shut Out Scots in Game Two, Force Split with Alma

ADRIAN, Mich. – The Bulldogs met Alma College Saturday and the teams split the double header. The Scots scored five runs in the top of the seventh inning in game one as they took the Bulldogs down, 5-2.  Adrian shut out the Scots in game two as the team's split the double header. The Bulldogs now sit at a 6-6 overall record with a 1-2 record in the MIAA.

Game one saw the Bulldogs jump out to a 2-0 lead after two innings. The Bulldogs grabbed their first run on a Katie Dewyre single that knocked in Jessica Sarch. Adrian the advanced their lead in the second inning as Morgan Brandt drove in Rachel Jason. This was all of the scoring until the top of the seventh inning when the Scots scored five times in their final at bat. The Bulldogs could not cross home plate in their final attempt at the plate as Alma took game one, 5-2.

Brooke Stewart pitched five scoreless innings and struck out five. Kelsey Meyer (2-3) took the decision as she allowed five runs and struck out four in 1.2 innings. Kaitlin Lock came in for a third of an inning.

Katie Dewyre led the Bulldog offense as she went 3-3 with an RBI.

Game two saw the Bulldogs shut out the Scots 4-0. Kaitlin Lock (4-1) pitched a complete game shutout as she allowed only four hits and struck out six.

Adrian scored two runs in both the third and fourth innings to take their lead. The scoring started in the third when Katie Dewyre drove in Jessica Sarch on a single which advanced Macy Laws to third base. Karissa DeVore then followed this with a sacrifice fly that scored Laws. The Bulldogs continued their timely hits in the fourth as Kim D'Arcangelo singled to bring in Rachel Jason and Jessica Sarch singled to drive in Kaitlyn Schneider.

Sarch went 3-4 in the game with an RBI and a run scored.
