DELAWARE, Ohio – The Bulldogs ended their 2014 non-conference action Thursday evening as they took on the Battling Bishops of Ohio Wesleyan. OWU took Adrian down twice as they dropped the Bulldogs overall record to 15-15.
Game one saw the Bishops use a big third inning to put the Bulldogs behind for good. OWU scored nine runs in the third followed by three runs in the fourth to take out Adrian in five innings, 12-0.
Kaitlin Lock (6-4) drew the decision as she pitched all four innings and struck out four.
Game two was highlighted by the Bulldogs taking a 4-1 lead after three innings. Adrian scored all four of its runs in the third as Karissa DeVore singled in Allison Lochart to start the big inning. Kelsey Meyer then singled to score Rebecca Greco and Rachel Jason singled to score DeVore and Sarah Richardson. Adrian could not hang on to this lead as they gave up three runs in the fifth and one in the seventh to fall to the Bishops, 5-4.
Kelsey Meyer (6-7) drew the decision as she pitched the complete game and struck out four.
Karissa DeVore went 2-4 with a run scored and an RBI. Rachel Jason went 1-3 with two RBI and Rebecca Greco went 2-4 with a run scored.
The Bulldogs will see action again in their final double header of 2014 as they travel to Albion Saturday, April 26 for a 1 p.m. start time.
