LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) has announced the All-Region teams for the 2014 season and Adrian College had a pair of honorees in the Central Region.
Sophomore first baseman Karissa DeVore (Adrian, Mich./Blissfield H.S.) was named First Team All-Central Region after being selected Second Team All-MIAA. DeVore impressed the voting committee with a .400 batting average this season in 32 games. She smacked four home runs and drove in 26 runs for the Bulldogs. DeVore ranked third in the MIAA in home runs and second in RBI. She also ranked fifth in total bases and fourth in slugging percentage.
Senior outfielder Katie Dewyre (Pemberville, Ohio/Eastwood H.S.) was named Third Team All-Central Region and batted .430 in 29 games for the Bulldogs. She drove in 17 runs and crossed home plate 21 times this season. Dewyre ranked sixth in the MIAA in runs scored, eighth in walks and eighth in on-base percentage.
