DECATUR, Ga. – The Bulldogs finished their spring trip Sunday morning with a game against Washington (Mo.). The Bears used a three-run third inning to take the lead while they held a powerful Adrian offense to three hits as the Bulldogs would suffer a 3-0 loss as they now stand at 9-3 overall.
Kelsey Meyer (1-1) pitched the complete game for Adrian and recorded seven strikeouts. Meyer held Washington to just six hits, but the Bears would take a 3-0 lead after the third inning following a two-run home run by Adrienne White and an RBI single from Janet Taylor. Kaitlyn Hinojosa would provide the offense for Adrian as she would record all three of the hits for the Bulldogs on a 3-for-3 day.
Adrian finished their spring trip with a 9-3 record. The Bulldogs recorded 124 hits, 32 doubles, two triples, and nine home runs while batting .350 as a team. The Adrian pitching staff combined for nine wins between five pitchers and recorded a 2.45 earned run average while allowing opposing batters to hit for a .235 average. The Bulldogs will see action next when they travel to take on Bluffton in a double header on March 14.
