Bulldogs Swept at 14th Ranked Trine

ANGOLA, Ind. - The Adrian College softball team lose both games at the No. 14 Trine University. The Thunder achieved a 4-1 win in game one and survived game two, winning 7-5 in nine innings.

ADRIAN HITTING

Game One

Jessica Sarch (2-for-4) led the Bulldogs with two hits

Courtney VanRiper (1-for-1), Morgan Brandt (1-for-2), Casey Cribbs (1-for-3), Karissa DeVore (1-for-3) and Jessica Palumbo (1-for-2) all had one hit for Adrian

• Cribbs had the Bulldogs lone RBI

Game Two

• Cribbs (2-for-5/one RBI) and Krista Lynch (2-for-3) each led Adrian with two hits

Rebecca Greco had a team high two RBIs 

• Palumbo and Taylor Van't Land each contribute an RBI

ADRIAN PITCHING

Game One

Kelsey Meyer pitched all six innings for Adrian, facing 32 batters, surrendering eight hits, two earned runs and one home run while walking five batters and striking out two

Game Two

Kaitlin Lock pitched 6.1 innings, facing 31 batters and surrendered nine hits and five earned runs and two home runs while striking out three batters

Paige Cubberly relieved Lock, pitching 2.0 innings facing 14 batters, surrendering six hits and two earned runs

TRINE HITTING

Game One

• Kaylee Fox (2-for-4) and Alison Lang (2-for-3) led the Thunder with two hits

• Rachell Noble had a game high two RBIs

Game Two

• Kaitlyn Clark (3-for-6) and Lainey McCue (3-for-5) each had three hits

• Clark also led Trine with two RBIs

TRINE PITCHING

Game One

• Erica Robles got the start in the circle for the Thunder, facing 32 batters

• She surrendered seven hits and one earned run while striking out nine batters

Game Two

• Kate Saupe pitched 2.0 innings and gave up two earned runs

• Mollie Lovasko and Bre Cooper each pitched 3.0 innings

• Lovasko faced 14 batters and gave up two hits and three earned runs

• Cooper faced 12 batters and surrendered three hits and earned the win

• Robles finished the game, earning the save striking out three batters

UP NEXT

• Adrian travels to Notre Dame, Indiana to face St. Mary's in a doubleheader

• Game one is scheduled to begin at 3:30 p.m., with game two following the conclusion of game one
