ALBION, Mich. – The women's tennis team had a change of venue for Saturday's match and traveled to Albion for their MIAA opener. The Bulldogs dropped an 8-1 decision to the Britons and are now 2-6 overall and 0-1 in the MIAA.
Sarah Brooks got the lone team point for Adrian with a 6-3, 6-0 win at five singles over Marissa Messenger. Sarah Kean also had a competitive match at four singles going three sets against Sarah Towler. Towler won the first set, 6-1, before Kean responded with a 7-6 win in the second set. Towler took the super tiebreaker third set ,10-8.
Shannon Woods also pushed Katie Blumberg to a tiebreak in the first set falling 7-6 and then fell 6-2 in the second set. Jordenne Ferenczi and Brooks had the closest doubles match at three doubles with an 8-5 loss to Messenger and Leah Saurman.
