Ladies Fall Behind Early in 6-3 Loss to Alma

ADRIAN, Mich. - The women's tennis team fell behind 3-0 after doubles play and could not make up the difference despite winning three of six singles matches in a 6-3 loss to Alma on Saturday at the Craft Tennis Complex. It was the first outdoor home match of the spring for the Bulldogs.

Alma got ahead 3-0 due to their doubles prowess but Adrian hung tough in each of the matches. Katelyn Simcina and Shannon Woods lost 8-4 at one doubles. Shelby Kruszewski and Sarah Kean lost 8-4 at two doubles. Sarah Brooks and Jordenne Ferenczi lost 8-6 at three doubles.

Simcina got revenge at one singles with a 7-6 (7-5), 6-2 win over Jen Meloche. Brooks also was a winner at five singles with a 6-3, 6-3 decision over Lauren Stevenson. Ferenczi also was a winner at six singles with a 6-3, 7-6 (7-3) decision over Lauren Moreau.
