Women’s Tennis Bests Olivet 8-1

OLIVET, Mich. – Adrian women's tennis continued to show improvement as they captured an 8-1 win at Olivet on Saturday, March 31. Adrian picked up its fifth win of the season and moved to 2-1 in the MIAA.

The Bulldogs won all three doubles matches to start with a commanding 3-0 lead. Sarah Kean and Shelby Kruszewski had a hard-fought win 9-7 at one doubles over Caitlin LaValley and Kelsey Singer. LaValley did come back to win at one singles over Kruszewski 6-0, 6-2 for Olivet's lone point.

Jordenne Ferenczi and Sarah Sokolowski had little troubles at three doubles with an 8-0 win over Courtney Kidder and Megan Post. Ferenczi also picked up a win at five singles with a 6-1, 6-2 win over Post. Sokolowski also won 6-3, 6-3 at six singles over Kidder.

"The girls came out fired up in doubles and jumped out to a 3-0 lead. I was really proud of how Sarah Kean and Shelby Kruszewski battled to help complete the doubles sweep," said head coach Adam Albertsen.

The most intense singles match was Shannon Woods winning 7-6 (9-7), 7-6 (9-7) at two singles over Singer. "Shannon showed a ton of heart being the last one on the court in a great match," commented Albertsen. The Lady Bulldogs host Hope this Wednesday at 4:00 pm.
