Adrian Wins Big Over Albion, 3-1

ADRIAN, Mich. – The Adrian College women's volleyball team, under the guidance of head coach Elisa Joris, took a step forward tonight with a big 3-1 (25-21, 22-25, 25-16, 26-24) conference win over Albion College. With the win, the Lady Bulldogs improve to 2-10 overall and 2-3 in the MIAA and with the loss, the Britons fall to 3-11 and 0-6 in league play.

Sophomore Elise Mindick led the offense with a career-high 12 kills, while senior Roxanne Duran and junior Stephanie Holloman registered nine each. Also contributing on the offensive attack was the freshmen duo Emily McCauley and Linnea Berriman who earned seven and six kills, respectively.

Junior Kristy DeClercq set a career-high 33 assists followed by classmate Ashley Vernier with 11.

On defense, Duran had a season-high 19 digs, while sophomore Kristi Walker had 18. Also turning in double digit digs was DeClercq with 11. Not to be outdone, Holloman tied a season-high with six blocks (four solo and two assists).

The Lady Bulldogs will look to make it two in a row as they travel to Saint Mary's (Ind.) for a 12:00 p.m MIAA showdown on Saturday (Sept. 24).
