Hornets Spoil Senior Night, Top Adrian 3-1

ADRIAN, Mich. – The Kalamazoo College Hornets spoiled Senior Night for the Adrian College women's volleyball team with a 3-1 win by the scores of 25-19, 19-25, 25-15, and 27-25. The Lady Bulldogs drop to 8-20 overall and 5-10 in the MIAA. Kalamazoo improves to 9-18 overall and 8-7 in conference play.

After losing the first set, Adrian regrouped and won the second. The Hornets regained the lead with a third set victory and the fourth set was a fight to the end with Kalamazoo coming out on top.

Senior Roxanne Duran was one kill away from a double-double and tallied nine kills and 12 digs. Junior Ashley Vernier led with 12 set assists followed by senior Joanna Slisinger with eight. Also chipping in was junior Kristy DeClercq with seven assists.

Sophomore Kristi Walker led the Adrian defense with 15 digs. Also getting action was sophomore Elise Mindick and Vernier with seven and six digs, respectively.

Junior Stephanie Holloman had a game-high two blocks.

Adrian will close out the season tomorrow at Calvin with a 1:00 p.m. start.
