Women’s volleyball downed by Trine

ADRIAN, Mich. – The Adrian College women's volleyball team (4-3, 0-3) wasn't able to hold off a Trine University (6-1, 3-0) rally and dropped the match, 3-1, after taking the initial set 25-15. Trine rebounded by winning the last three sets (25-21, 25-13, 25-15) to take the conference match.

The Bulldogs were not able to regroup after letting a close second set slip away that saw the set either tied or led a dozen different times.

Defensively, Adrian out-dug Trine, 74-59, for the match and were led by junior libero Emily Ribant (Flushing, Mich.) with 20 digs. Statistically, the Bulldogs had more aces (6) and blocks (8.5) than Trine.

Offensively, freshman Jordan Brisson (Waterford, Mich.) led with 40 total attacks followed by junior Ellie Mindick (Northville, Mich.) with 35. Junior Carly Tyson (Big Rapids, Mich. ) added 17 assists.

The team will close out the afternoon with a matchup against Bluffton University in non-conference action.
