ALBION, Mich. - Adrian College volleyball lost its second straight conference match in the fifth set to Albion 14-25, 14-25, 25-18, 25-21, 8-15 on Saturday. The Bulldogs fell down two sets to none, but followed with a rally that sent the match into a deciding fifth set. The fifth set saw Adrian fall behind early, and they could not recover in time to prevent their second conference loss.
Errors were the story of the first two sets that ended with Albion victories. The Bulldogs recovered to win the third and fourth sets when they limited their mistakes and capitalized on opportunities. Adrian College committed 32 errors in the match that the Britons used to fuel runs that led to all three of their set victories.
Jordan Brisson and Linnea Berriman led the offense combining for 23 kills. Rachel Wathen and Nicole Motz contributed as well combining for 26 assists. Ellie Mindick once again led the Bulldog defense with 15 digs. These great efforts fueled the comeback from two sets down to force a deciding fifth set. Unfortunately the hard fought match did not result with Adrian College's first conference victory of 2013 and dropped them to 0-6, 0-2 on the season.
The Bulldogs will see action again September 11 at Alma College at 6:30 p.m.
