ANGOLA, Ind.- Adrian College started off their homecoming weekend on the road against Trine University, but failed they to start the weekend out with a win. The Thunder swept the best of five series 25-12, 25-15, 25-21. This loss dropped the Bulldogs to (4-9, 0-5).
The Bulldogs kept the first set close pulling within striking distance at a 12 to 17 deficit. The Thunder did not hesitate to seal the victory by going on an eight-point run to seal the early one to zero match edge. The second set saw the Thunder take the early 4-0 edge and followed suit with a pair of six point runs to seal the commanding two sets to zero match lead. Adrian College fought hard in the third set overcoming an early 12 to five deficit by going on a six point run to tie the score. The Bulldogs kept their momentum going by taking a commanding 20-18 lead. The Thunder countered this Bulldog charge with a seven point run to win the match three sets to none.
Jordan Brisson continued her dynamic play recording 11 kills and a hitting percentage of .267. Carly Tyson returned to action contributing 13 assists, and Kristi Walker led the defense again with seven digs.
The Bulldogs have their homecoming match tomorrow, September 21st, at 11 a.m. against Hope.
