Bulldogs fall to top ranked Calvin College

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich.- Adrian College travelled to Calvin College looking to end the Knights' 44 match MIAA win streak, but Calvin College proved their position as the #1 team in all of Division III.  The Bulldogs did not shy away from the challenge that presented its self but fell in three sets 25-13, 25-11, 25-13.

The first two sets were controlled by the Knights. The Bulldogs fell behind early and were never able to recover as Calvin College took a demanding two sets to zero lead for the match. Adrian College did not want to fold in the third set and gave the Knights all they had. The Bulldogs took an early 3-2 lead before the Knights came back to lead the set 6-4. Adrian College responded by taking five of the next six points to lead the set 9-7. Calvin College then proved their top overall ranking by going on an 11 point run to which the Bulldogs could not recover, and they fell to (4-11, 0-7) on the season.

Jordan Brisson continued to be the Bulldogs' offesnsive focal point by tallying six kills. Carly Tyson once again contributed with seven assists, and senior libero Kristi Walker led the Adrian College defense with nine digs.

Adrian College will continue their play next at home on October 1st against St. Mary's at 7 p.m.
