OLIVET, Mich.- The Bulldogs met Olivet College in an MIAA match Friday night. Adrian College fell behind early in the match 1-0. This did not deter the Bulldogs from achieving their goal as they went on to win the next three sets, and ultimately win the match 3-1 (19-25, 25-23, 25-21,25-23). This win put the Bulldog's record at 8-14 on the year and 5-8 in the MIAA.
After dropping the first set 19-25, Adrian College came out strong in the second set with an early five point run to go up 12-6 for the set. This lead was never given back and the Bulldogs tied the match 1-1 with a 25-23 set victory. Adrian used this same formula in the second set as they broke an early 3-3 tie with a six point run to put the Comets behind for good on their way to a 25-21 set victory, and complete control of the match. Adrian College sealed the match win in the fourth set by going on an early four point run to take a 5-1 lead, and the Bulldogs followed this with multiple three point runs to solidify their road win over Olivet.
Margo Joubran and Jordan Busse each had 13 kills for the match. Linnea Berriman led the team with a hitting percentage of .318, and also tallied another 10 kills. Nicole Motz added a match high 34 assists, and Kristi Walker chipped in 18 digs to help Adrian secure the win.
The Bulldogs will play again tomorrow, Saturday, October 19 at home at 11 a.m. against Trine University.
