ROYAL OAK, Mich. – The Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association has named Adrian right-side hitter Jordan Brisson its Player of the Week and Adrian defensive specialist Haley Mellon its Specialty Player of the Week in volleyball for matches played through Sept. 14.
Brisson, a junior from Waterford (Kettering HS), slammed home 21 kills for a .372 hitting percentage, and added six digs and three blocks in leading the Bulldogs to a five-set MIAA victory over Albion. She also earned All-Tournament honors as Adrian swept four straight opponents at the Allegheny, Pa. Gator Invitational. Brisson is being honored as Player of the Week for the first time in her career.
Mellon, a freshman from Adrian (Madison HS), had 101 digs in five matches for the week as Adrian posted a perfect 5-0 record. She had 24 digs in a five-set MIAA win over Albion and added 22 digs in a sweep of Pitt-Greensburg, Pa. at the Allegheny, Pa. Gator Invitational. Mellon is being honored for the first time in her career.
