LEXINGTON, Ky. - The Adrian College women's volleyball team was one of only 140 NCAA DIII institutions to be named an American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Team Academic Award recipient for the 2015-16 season.
The award honors collegiate and high school volleyball teams that displayed excellence in the classroom during the school year by maintaining at least a 3.30 cumulative team grade-point average on a 4.0 scale or a 4.10 cumulative team GPA on a 5.0 scale.
This is the 5th time since the awards inception during the 1992-93 academic year, second in Head Coach David Kwan's tenure, that the Bulldog women's volleyball team has received the award (the other years were 1994-95, 2006-07, 2007-08 and 2012-13).
The Bulldogs kick off the 2016 season on September 2 versus Hanover at the Baden Invitational hosted by Washington University in St. Louis, Mo. The team's home opener is Wednesday, September 7 against MIAA opponent Trine University. The match will begin at 6:30 PM EST in the Performance Gym in the Merillat Sports and Fitness Center.
