Bulldogs Split Day Two Of Baden Invitational

ST. LOUIS – The Adrian College women's volleyball team split day 2 at the Baden Invitational in St. Louis, Mo. The Bulldogs were swept by the No. 6 ranked Washington University Bears in the first match of the day before sweeping Knox in the afternoon match.

Game 1: #6 Washington University


Final Score: Adrian 0, Washington 3 (16-25, 14-25, 14-25)

Location: St. Louis, Mo. (Field House)

Records: Adrian (2-1), Washington (2-1)


• The Bears jumped out to a 1-0 lead before winning the next two sets to sweep the Bulldogs in the first game of day two for Adrian at the Baden Invitational

• Washington had a hitting percentage of .244 while holding Adrian to a negative team hitting percentage for the match


• All-Tournament selection Margo Joubran led the Bulldogs with eight kills

Cassadine Reed contributed offensively with five kills and finished the match with a team high .556 hitting percentage

Marisa Dion tallied 12 assists for Adrian, a team high in that category

Haley Mellon was the top defender for the Bulldogs with 11 digs


• Rexi Sheredy led the Bear offense with eight kills

• Ifeoma Ufondu and Caroline Dupont each contributed six and five kills respectively

• Chloe Stile and Savannah Zhang paced the offense with 20 and 12 assists

• Natalie Stephanus recorded 18 digs to lead the defense

Game 2: Knox


Final Score: Adrian 3, Knox 0 (25-16, 25-21, 25-23)

Location: St. Louis, Mo. (Varsity Gym)

Records: Adrian (3-1), Knox (0-3)


• The Bulldogs jumped out to an early 1-0 lead by winning the first set 25-16

• Knox kept it close in the second set, however Adrian pulled out to win the set 25-21 to take a 2-0 lead

• The Prairie Fire kept it close in the third set as well but the Bulldogs held out to win 25-23 to pull out the sweep


Olivia Welch led Adrian with six kills

Jenai White contributed to the score with five kills

Marisa Dion set up the offense with 13 assists

Carlie Fernandez led defensively with 11 digs

• Welch also contributed on defense with 10 digs


• Rose Griffin led Knox with 11 kills

• Emily Mosher had 16 assists

• Jakelyah Triplett had 20 digs
